Dock Installation in Michigan

Dock Installation in Michigan

You’ll need dock installation that after purchasing your new dock. You have many options to choose from for both decking and installation. Your decking options range from plastic docks to wood docks to vinyl docks. Then, your dock installation will of course depend on your chosen decking. As you start the search to find the right solution for you, it is important to keep in mind your desired weight of decking, upfront and maintenance costs, rotting, upkeep, and desired dock use.

Docks are used for many reasons, including access to a boat or pontoon, fishing, swimming, work or work events, other special events and parties, sunbathing, relation and reading, and more. As you start your dock search, the first thing you want to consider is the primary use of your new dock. For example, if you want to use your dock for sunbathing, fishing, and/or primarily relaxation, then you may not want to choose wood decking. This is because wood decking tends to absorb the sun’s rays and can make the surface of the wood quite warm to the touch. On the other hand, if upfront costs are most important to you as your new dock is primarily used for access to a boat or pontoon rather than sunbathing or relaxation, than wood decking might be the right choice for you.

Dock Installation

After considering the use of your new dock, it is then important to consider how much time and money you plan to spend on maintenance and maintenance costs over the lifespan of your dock. Aluminum and vinyl docks tend be the most high quality choice for dock decking, especially if you are looking for a maintenance free dock. This is because aluminum and vinyl decking tend to be lighter than wood, composite, or plastic decking and therefore are easier to remove for inspection or storage. Vinyl and aluminum docks are also resistant to rotting, decay, and paint fading/damage. Finally, vinyl and aluminum docks will not rust, twist, or warp over the lifespan of the decking and require no maintenance beyond that preferred by the dock owner.

At Recreational Services LLC, we prefer and proudly sell maintenance free vinyl docks, made of aluminum construction and stainless steel and zinc plated hardware. We believe vinyl docks make a great choice for decking, because:
